When and why did you become interested in cycling? When I first started working I needed something to keep me fit and in the great outdoors.

What do you think you get out of cycling? Time out from the real world

On average how many kilometres do you ride a week and with whom? Between 100 and 300km's with Lauretta Howarth

Describe you most memorable ride? The Croc Trophy

Give us a description of a ride you would rather forget? Coming down Copperlode (a hill in Cairns) it was wet and I slid out and got some nasty gravel rash

What is your favourite post cycle beverage? Endura optimiser

What is your favourite cycle energy food? Banana sandwich and red snakes

How do you cope with cold winter mornings? I live in lovely Cairns which is mostly warm

Is there anything that can be done to improve the on road relationship between cyclists and motorists? Motorists just need to keep there eyes open and remember there are cyclists on the road

What advice can you give those who are thinking of taking up cycling? Get on a bike and ride

Experience has taught me: that do the work and you will get results anything is possible

Who inspires you the most? Lauretta Howarth

What is your life/cycle philosophy? It's your movie and life's short, just do it and have no regrets

I often daydream about: travelling Australia in a big bus with with my bike

When you are not cycling you are: with my daughter or cutting hair

When all else fails: tomorrow is a new day
