'Win A Sports Bra' competition winner
Thank you to all the SheSpoke members who entered the SheSpoke/Berlei 'Win A Sports Bra' competition last month. The winner was Queenslander Viv Brown who enthusiastically received the news that she had won an $80 voucher from sports bra manufacturers Berlei.
The correct answer to the questions 'what ligament supports the breast tissue' was the Coopers Ligament.
From some of the many comments I received from those who entered the competition, the damage that can be irreversibly done to breast tissue while undertaking-sporting pursuits was a surprise.
When purchasing a sports bra it is important to buy one that is correctly fitted and suits your cup size. Here are some tips on what you should look for when buying a sports bra.
-
Most women are confused or mislead about the actual sizing of a bra. The size is made up of two measurements.
-
The underbust measurement relates to the width of the back and diaphragm, this is a numerical number such as 10, 12, 14, 16, & 18.
-
The cup measurement relates to the size of the breast. Cup size are in alphabetical form such as A, B, C, D, DD, and E.
-
The measurement for underbust is not dressmaker's measurements. Therefore it does not relate to clothing size. For example, a woman who wears 12B may take a size 10 in clothes or a woman who wears a 14C may wear size 16 clothes. The sizing of intimate apparel is not related to the sizing of outerwear.
Australian sports bra specialists Berlei have developed a range of sports bras suited to all types of sporting activity. The Berlei SF2 sports bra has been designed for activities such as cycling and reduces breast bounce by between 45 - 50%.
