SheSpoke supports women's cycling
It wasn't just Pip Read scoring gold medals in the SheSpoke jersey this month - two other women riders managed to make their own mark in the field of cycling and were rewarded with SheSpoke Cycle Jerseys for their efforts.
In the Cycling Queensland Ladies Road Race Series, D grade rider Rebecca Shipston (pictured in her SheSpoke Wings 2007 Jersey) out rode a strong field to take out the fastest time in a road race held at Rosewood in beautiful South East Queensland.
Rebecca and 30 other women braved miserable and rainy conditions to take part in Round 4 of the 2007 TREK Ladies Road Racing Series. Rebecca not only took line honours but also won the D grade class on the day.
The final race in the series will be held at Pimpana on Saturday, September 29. For more details contact Cycling Queensland on (07) 3390 1477.
When Anne Davidson hopped on a bike for the first time in her life in January of this year, little did she realise that she would be taking out the prize for the most improved female cyclist in the Toowoomba Triathlon Duathlon Series only seven months later. Anne received a SheSpoke Amaranth Cycle Jersey for her outstanding efforts in decreasing her time by over five minutes in the five race series.
Not one to be daunted by a challenge Anne has recently completed her first 5km run and is in training for her first attempt at a triathlon.
