National Ride 2 School Day
National Ride2School Day is Australia's largest celebration of walking and riding to school. To be held on Wednesday, March 16 National Ride to School day encourages parents and teachers to leave the car at home and get students walking, riding, skating or scooting.
Organising a National Ride2School day provides an opportunity for student leaders to practise their skills and schools to get involved with their community by linking with councils, local bike shops, Police and members of the wider community.
Best of all, National Ride2School Day is a chance for brand new riders, parents and teachers to experience riding and walking to school for the first time. They might find that it is quicker, more interesting and lots of fun to walk and ride to school!
On this day walking and riding is normal and the entire school community gets behind it. It is a chance to celebrate walking and riding on a large scale and to prove it can be done. After showing it's achievable on this day families are encouraged to keep the momentum going throughout the year.
