Getting started in road cycle racing - part three
SheSpoke continues its series of articles on an introduction to road cycle racing in Australia. All information supplied is provided by Cycling Australia.
What is a cycling licence?
By joining any one of Cycling Australia's affiliated cycling clubs, you become affiliated to the State you live in and cycling Australia. This in turn allows you to compete in any sanctioned cycling events in Australia.
Once your membership has been processed, a racing licence is issued. This is then used to verify your club and state membership when entering and registering for events.
Insurance cover
Membership with an affiliated cycling club provides public liability and personal accident cover in sanctioned races. For clarification on conditions of cover contact Cycling Australia.
