CQ road race series cycles to success
The Cycling Queensland Ladies Road Race series has attracted a huge number
of women cyclists wishing to avail themselves of the all women's events.
According to the cycling development officer for CQ, Alex Bright, the
second event, a pairs' time trial at Pimpama, attracted over 94 women,
something of a record in Queensland for an open event.
The next event will be a criterium at Nerang on Saturday, June 9. This
also includes the women's 'come and try' event. A road handicap will b held
at Rosewood in August and a scratch race at Pimpama on September 29 as part
of the race series. The races are graded and there has been an immense
interest in women-only racing.
